On Sunday November 22, 2015 Caruthers Niner Empire continued their work in giving back to the community. Last year Caruther’s Niner Empire was awarded the 2014 Empiree Kiki Award for the work they do for their small town. We decided to take a trip to Caruther’s to see what the small town is all about. Well, without saying one definitely feels the small town love once you get there as you are greeted by the humble , caring President Jose Perez aka JP and his family.  The video attached gives you an idea of the love that is spread throughout the town. Pictures and video’s do not do it justice. Each family was given a turkey and a box full of Thanksgiving treats so they are able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and forget the everyday struggle to put food on the table, roof over the head , and clothing on their back . Each family had their own struggles. How heart wrenching to know that one of the families was without running water for 7 months, or a young boy was sponsored by one of the Caruther Chapter members to play football. The mother stated that the little boy did not want to take off his football jersey and slept in it because he loved football, There was also a family whose house burned down and the Caruthers Chapter came together to furnish the house and we we drove up to the house and the kids came running out excited to see who was there to visit them. There was a single parent father whose spouse passed away and he raises all four of them them while working in the fields all day.. It is without a doubt a very humbling experience and one of the greatest feeling ever to be a part of this experience. To Jose Perez and the Caruthers Chapter we as not just San Francisco 49er fans , but as people who care THANK YOU for all you guys do….. Jose Perez stated without Niner Empire this would not have happened….I, Joe Leonor, disagree…without people like YOU and your family and friends there would be no NINER EMPIRE. You have given something back that nobody could ever buy and that is LOVE and Passion……

Caruthers is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 2,497 at the 2010 census, up from 2,103 at the 2000 census. Caruthers is located 15 miles (24 km) south of downtown Fresno, at an elevation of 246 feet (75 m). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km²), all of it land.The first post office in Caruthers opened in 1891. The name honors W.A. Caruthers, a local farmer.
